Howdy, OMBles!
So here’s the deal. We want to get on the bill at Glastonbury this year; and we’d like you to help convince them.
Feel free to use your awesome creative skills to create posters, adverts, anything that will have them stroking their collective beards and thinking, “You know what…”
And because it’s a cause dear to our hearts, we’re offering some prizes in the form of cold, hard cash:
Winner: £100
Runner-up: £50
(And we’ll send out some merch to a few notable mentions too).
About Anthony O’Neill and the Murder
Anthony O’Neill and the Murder is a Country Music act that leans towards the darker side of the genre. Anthony O’Neill discovered his love for Country when Johnny Cash himself invited him to play on stage with him back in the ’90s. He’s played in various bands since then but he’s now taking the Country stuff seriously.
Why The Murder? It’s the collective noun for crows and a fitting term for the various musicians who have flown in and out of the studio window – not literally, that would be hideous – but now with a stable lineup coming together, the band is ready for the road.
We went live with our debut EP All That’s Left to Rust in January 2024 – almost exactly a year ago. Since then? Here are a few key facts.
- We’ve had tons or radio airplay in the UK, Nashville and in fact pretty much most of the world
- Four our or tracks have topped the UK Country Radio chart: Waterloo Sunrise (Christmas Morning), I Know Jesus Would, The L&N Don’t Stop Here and Muddy Waters
- We were nominated for Artist of the Year and Group of the Year at the UK Country Music Awards.
- The Record Store Day run of the debut EP on Pink vinyl (500 copies) sold out in under ten minutes
- The new album is well underway with some rather interesting (and hush-hush) collaborators on board.
